Drug Class and Mechanism
Bupropion being an antidepressant works well for curing depression. But how exactly does Bupropion works is still unknown.
Despite your best attempts at remembering, if you still miss out on a dose, then take it as soon as you remember about it. But keep in mind that you will have to adjust your next dose by spacing it out by 4 to 5 hours. If this is not possible, then the best thing to do would be to skip the missed dose and continue with your normal dosage schedule.
Never try to compensate for the missed dose by taking a double dose together. It may cause adverse effects.
Store Bupropion at room temperature preferably between 20 to 25 degrees C. Always keep it in a cool dark place that is not directly exposed to sources of heat or moisture and sunlight. Protect it from kids and pets.
Doctors advise against using Bupropion if you are allergic to any ingredient in it or if you have conditions like history of an eating disorder or seizures, or if you have suddenly stoped taking alcohol or sedatives after a long time, or if you are into monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the last 14 days.
Discuss your past/current medical history in detail with your doctor before beginning treatment with any new medication. If you are using any herbal supplements or over the counter medication, including vitamin pills, then mention it to your doctor.
Your condition might be monitored or the dosage might be modified to suit you if you have conditions like if you are planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, or are pregnant, if you are into any prescription or nonprescription medicine, dietary supplement or herbal preparation, have any allergies towards medicines, foods, or even any other substances, or if you have had family history of mental illness, have attempted or even considered about suicide, have had diseases related to kidney, liver, heart, high blood pressure, diabetes, or even if you have had seizures, tumor in the spinal cord or brain and head injury.
Bupropion has a tendency to react with a number of other medicines like MAOIs, anticholinergics, antihistamines, carbamazepine, thyroid medicines and even warfin, and may result in some serious side effects. So while you are taking the dosage of Bupropion, make sure you take the necessary precautions.
